Owned and operated by Viking, Viking Ra was specifically built to navigate the Nile. She was completely stripped down to her steel frame and reconfigured to be a modern, elegant vessel, launched in 2018. Fully reimagined to international standards and Viking design specifications, she is now an all-suite, state-of-the art ship with the clean, elegant Scandinavian design for which Viking is known. From the Program Director and Hotel Manager to restaurant servers and housekeeping, the onboard staff is dedicated to serving you. Gratuities are included on board. With floor-to-ceiling glass windows and large, comfortable chairs, the Lounge is the heart of the ship—a gathering place for guests to view the scenery, have a drink, take in lectures and lore, and enjoy local music.
While your ship does not have any fitness equipment, feel free to walk the walking track on the Sun Deck for your daily exercise, or take part in our shore excursions and walking tours. In many major cities, you may access nearby First-Class hotels and use their Fitness Center and Spa facilities as part of Viking’s relationship with those hotels.
