Something wicked this way comes! Visit us at Tudor House for a special day of activities and tours in preparation for All Hallows Eve! Create a magic wand with Witch Kate and join our resident ghost hunter Andy to explore the house for a special tour full of spooky happenings that have happened over the years! Entrance is included for any activities booked! Activities and times are as follows:

12:30PM: Wand-making Workshop

Wand-making £6 per child, free accompanying adult - 12.30pm and 2.30pm

Spooky Story Tours £6 for each child and adult - 1.30pm and 3.30pm

Southampton Blitz Walking Tour

Southampton was devastated by enemy bombing during the Second World War and many of the distinctive pre-war landmarks disappeared overnight. During the anniversary period of the worst bombing raids, join historian and guide Andy Skinner for a special guided tour of Southampton's Old Town with a specific focus on the story of the Southampton Blitz by spotting areas above ground that can be seen and exploring some of the medieval vaults that were used as air-raid shelters during the war.

Please meet 10 minutes before the tour start time in St Michael's Square. The tour will last approximately 90 minutes. Regrettably it is unsuitable for wheelchair users and those with mobility concerns.

Please bring a torch and suitable footwear.

Children must be accompanied by a full-paying adult.

£8 per adult, free for children.

Deck the halls with boughs of holly for a magical hour of online festive fun! Where do Christmas presents come from? How did Henry VIII celebrate Christmas? What was Christmas like for children during WWII? To find out, join Andy from Tudor House for stories, art and discovery in this creative family session aimed at children aged 6yrs to 12yrs. This session will finish at approximately 4pm.

Clear instructions and details for how to log in will be emailed on purchase. If this email does not arrive please check your junk mail folder. Tickets are required for each device being used to access the event, although we are very happy for a whole family to participate on each device. As will all our children's activities, an adult will need to stay close at hand throughout the class.

Willow Woodpeckers : Led by Jacqueline Rolls

Join Tudor House’s artist in residence, willow sculptor Jaqueline Rolls, to create your own stunning garden bird from willow. Enjoy this relaxing and traditional art overlooking the Tudor House Garden, while you are guided through the process of working with willow and making your own garden bird sculpture using a range of techniques.

This workshop runs 10:30am – 2:30pm including a short lunch break. Feel free to either bring something with you or order from the café before the workshop.

This course is suitable for all levels of ability including absolute beginners and all materials will be provided.

Please be aware that working with willow can be quite strenuous and may not be suitable if you suffer from arthritis or similar conditions. If you have any questions at all about this or any other aspect of the course please do email us at museums@southampton.gov.uk
