Sylt's famous bar is also very popular on the EUROPA. As the sun slowly sinks into the sea, a lively atmosphere spreads here until late into the night. Let our sommeliers inspire you and discover the largest selection of champagne at sea. Live music also awaits you on selected evenings.

A refined and cosy club atmosphere awaits you in the Havana Bar. Take a seat, choose a first-class cigar from the well-stocked humidor and order a drink to go with it. A place to indulge.

The cosy Club Belvedere attracts guests with its panoramic view and an excellent selection of tea and coffee specialities, small macarons and delicious cakes. On selected evenings, you can enjoy exciting readings and other entertainment here.

Start your evening with an aperitif, accompanied by some gentle melodies. The Piano Bar is also open in the daytime and is a great place for an afternoon coffee, reading the paper or enjoying some musical relaxation.

We will treat you to light snacks and cold drinks at the pool bar. Enjoy fresh waffles in the afternoon as a delicious snack to see you through - served to your sunlounger on request.

As part of the Ocean Sun Festival, the EUROPA is transformed into an exclusive concert hall at sea. Enjoy daily classical concerts on board - performed by excellent musicians with a repertoire spanning several centuries. For the very youngest on board the EUROPA we offer our free baby welcome package. From a changing mat to baby food and high-quality toiletries, it contains everything a child up to and including three years old could need. As a result, parents save space in their luggage – and can look forward to their cruise with even greater pleasure.

• Children up to and including 11 years of age travel for free, when staying in the same suite (with an extra bed) as one or two fully paying adults.
• Children aged from 12 to 15 pay € 95 per night (€105 from 12.09.2025) when staying in the same suite (with an extra bed) as one or two fully paying adults.
• Children up to and including 24 months of age receive a 90 % reduction and children from 2 up to and including 11 years of age receive a 25 % reduction on the arrival and departure packages.

During your cruise, you can enjoy a wide selection of organised shore excursions (subject to a charge). See the most important sights, for example, on classic scenic journeys or city tours. Get to know the countries and their people during sporty activities such as snorkelling, hiking or bicycle tours or see the world from a new perspective on flights or boat tours. We are also pleased to go that extra mile on your behalf with special arrangements, such as organising special opening times at important cultural venues or exclusive concerts in an unusual setting.

On days at sea, the varied on-board programme offers plenty of new experiences. Look forward to workshops on subjects such as photography or painting, creative writing, memory training and dance lessons. Health and beauty courses invite you to give your body the attention it deserves. The programme is different for each cruise, but it will always open up new horizons for you.

Baby monitors are available to borrow on board. This involves setting the telephone in your suite to monitor mode. As soon as any noise can be heard in your suite, a call will be made to one of the ship’s mobile phones, which we will provide you with. This means you will always know what’s going on in your suite. As we only have a limited number of baby monitors, please ask Reception or your suite stewardess for one as soon as possible. Please understand that it can take time to configure the devices.

In order to optimise your stay with your baby/toddler and allow you to relax as much as possible, we offer you the free Baby Welcome Package for children up to the age of 3. Travel with your children carefree, comfortably and without annoying excess baggage! In addition to nappies, baby care products and baby food, we are also happy to provide you with other items such as a travel cot, nappy bin and baby bath. The order form will be sent to you automatically with the provisional travel documents when you book with a child (up to and including the age of 3) approx. 3 months before the start of your holiday.

On board

There is no set dress code on board the EUROPA during the day. In the evening, gentlemen visiting the restaurants on Deck 4 should wear smart casual attire – namely, a long-sleeved shirt, a jacket or a summer suit. Ladies should dress accordingly. Short trousers, T-shirts, bathrobes and flip-flops are not permitted in any of our restaurants, bars and lounges in the evening. In the Pearls and Lido restaurants, it is not necessary to wear a jacket in the evening.

There is a welcome and farewell evening on every cruise. On short cruises of up to four nights, there is only one welcome evening. On these occasions, the recommended dress code is evening wear (suit for men, ladies dress accordingly). Wearing a tie is generally not mandatory. Weather permitting, one White Night Pool Party will be held on the deck of the EUROPA per cruise. We would be very pleased if you would wear white clothing or a white accessory for this.

Ashore

For your excursions or private shore excursions, clothing should be comfortable and practical, as well as appropriate for the destination. Sturdy shoes are recommended, flats are essential for ship and shore. For excursions with the Zodiacs in colder regions we recommend to wear waterproof clothing and footwear to protect against wetness.

The EUROPA has a modern ship's hospital on Deck 3, which is under the supervision of an experienced ship's doctor. The doctor's consultation hours are specified in the programme of the day. Guests who require medical treatment should contact the ship's doctor directly after embarkation. Please be sure to take any medication you need in your hand luggage (in an amount that is sufficient for the entire cruise). Treatment of seasickness is subject to a charge, if you make use of our medical services. We offer thrombosis prevention medication if required (subject to a charge).

Treatment on the ship is equivalent to a visit to a doctor abroad (flag state Malta). German fee guidelines and German health insurance do not apply on board. We therefore recommend that you take out private travel health insurance. ). The costs for any treatment or medication will be charged to your on-board account, settlement by insurance card is not possible. Hapag-Lloyd cannot assume liability for the reimbursement of treatments in full from your respective personal health insurance.

Extensive medical treatment on board is only possible to a limited extent. For example, the equipment of the on-board hospital is not specially designed for the care of babies and small children. In addition, the assortment in the on-board pharmacy is equipped for general illnesses as well as for initial emergency treatment. In the event of a medical emergency, the patient is disembarked and taken to a nearby hospital ashore. The associated costs are borne by the patient. Guests receiving medical treatment should carry their medical records with them.

The ship is equipped with a satellite communication system. If the connection to the communications satellite is available locally, this enables a direct telephone connection worldwide. Conversely, a direct telephone connection on board is also possible. Please note that even dialling the EUROPA telephone number is subject to a charge for the caller. The exact charges for a satellite telephone call on board can be obtained from your telephone provider; Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has no influence on this. The mobile phone network of the company WMS, a provider of mobile phone systems on board cruise ships and aircraft, allows you to use your mobile phone at sea in an area where your mobile phone provider can usually no longer provide a network (chargeable service; prices vary depending on the mobile phone provider).

Please consider that private radios and antennas are not permitted on board our ships.

*Due to a possible unstable satellite connection depending on the weather and the ship's position mainly in northern and southern sailing directions, this service cannot be guaranteed at all times. Please note that the Internet speed on board is not comparable with fast data connections ashore.

Restaurants

Enjoy the special atmosphere in our five restaurants with a free choice of seats and a dress code ranging from casual to elegant according to how you feel. 

Table reservation

Breakfast and lunch are taken in an open seating arrangement on board the EUROPA and you may choose where you sit. The same applies for the evening meal in the Europa Restaurant and Lido Cafe.

The maitre will be happy to accept table reservations for evening meals in the speciality restaurants (The Globe by Kevin Fehling, Venezia, Pearls) at the beginning of your cruise. Reservations cannot be made prior to departure.

The number of reservations you can make in these three restaurants is determined by the length of the cruise. On cruises with a duration of up to seven days, you can make reservations in one of the three restaurants. On cruises with a duration of eight to twelve days, you can make reservations in two of the three restaurants. For cruises of 13 days or more, you can make reservations in all three restaurants. Guests in SPA Suites and Penthouse Deluxe Suites are given priority for table reservations in The Globe by Kevin Fehling. We are happy to make table reservations on board at any time for all restaurants for guests in the Penthouse Grand Suites.
