Country Park
023 8089 9108 023 8089 9108

Lepe Country Park is a coastal site in the New Forest National Park. There are stunning views across the Solent from Hurst Castle to Portsmouth’s Spinnaker Tower and even the Isle of Wight.

With attractive beaches, coastal walks and unique heritage, the park is a firm favourite with its visitors. Lepe is popular for walking, swimming, fishing, windsurfing, and bird or boat watching. There is a children’s play area, picnic areas, barbecues for hire, toilets, ample parking, and a café.

Make sure you keep up to date with all the events and activities we offer throughout the year. As well as our permanent trails, we have fabulous seasonal events.

We are open every day, from 7.30am until 8pm or dusk (whichever is earliest). Check closing times on entry to the park.

Parking charges apply.

Up to one hour £2
Up to two hours £2.50
Up to three hours £4
Full day £6
Blue Badge holders and motorbikes – free
Coaches - £6 per day

An annual parking pass is available for £45.

The café is open seven days a week (except Christmas Day). We are open between 10am and 5pm (April to October), and 10am until 4pm (November to March).

Dogs are welcome in the country park. Please follow onsite signage and make use of dog waste bins provided. Dogs are not permitted on the family friendly beach between April and September. There is an alternative route available along our clifftop path.

The park has an onsite accessible toilet. Additionally, there is an accessible pathway and wheelchair accessible platforms, and ramp access to the café and beach.

Lepe is currently undergoing some extremely exciting improvements to the visitor experience. We’re got a new visitor information centre and café facility underway as well as new trails and walking destinations. Plus, there will be a fully accessible boardwalk at the end of the works.

Please excuse any disruption at this time; we’ll do our best to keep inconvenience to a minimum. We’re currently getting ready for our move. There will be around three weeks (we hope less!) in which the café will be closed, though we’ll have temporary catering on site. The park office will also be unavailable for a short time and the outdoor toilets will be shut. Temporary toilets will be located at beach level.

The park will remain open as usual during this time so please keep popping by to enjoy everything Lepe has to offer! Thank you for your continued support – we’re hope you’re as excited as we are for Lepe’s future.

Set within the popular Georgian market town of Lymington you will find the oldest open air sea water baths in the UK.

Dating back to 1833 the baths have historically gained national interest for their health giving waters and natural mud minerals. Today, young and old still swim in the waters and enjoy the stunning location with views over to the Isle of Wight.

With growing interest in preserving these historical sites for future generations the Baths have gained Grade 2 listed status in 2012. Now under new management the site is set to increase its range of activities focusing on enriching the experience for the local community and tourists alike.

The 2015 season promises to be an exciting one! As well as kayaks, paddle boards, and water rollers we are installing the South Coast’s biggest inflatable obstacle course (see image).

We can accommodate private parties and groups up to 400 people so if you are planning a private party, corporate day or charity event please get in touch with us so we can try to help!

Ringwood Brewery was founded by Peter Austin in 1978, a man who is revered as "the father of British Micro-brewing".

Ringwood Brewery's first brewhouse was in a former bakery in the old station yard brewing Best Bitter and Fortyniner for a handful of local customers. 1979 saw the production of Old Thumper, which has since become the flagship brew.

In 1986, having outgrown the Minty's yard premises, the brewery moved to its present site, ironically the location of the old Tunks' Brewery which ceased trading in 1821.

Today the brewery is able to produce circa 40,000 barrels of its renowned and distinctive beers. In addition to Best, Fortyniner, and Old Thumper, we now brew the blonde Boondoggle and the deliciously warming XXXX Porter.

Ringwood Brewery also boasts its own Brewery Store on site selling a full range of its beers as well as a wines, cider and souvenir merchandise. These goods including our bottled beers are available from our online shop. The Store welcomes thousands of visitors each year. The company's commitment to continuous improvement by investing in plant and equipment and training and development of staff has been recognised by a number of local and national business awards.

Country Park

A mile or two east from the centre of Southampton is Royal Victoria Country Park. The beach at the park offers a stunning view of cruise liners before they pass Hamble Point. Covering over 200 acres, it is one of the most scenic and delightful areas of South Hampshire, providing an ideal day out for all the family.

The park is firm favourite, due to its attractive parkland and woodland, and seashore overlooking Southampton Water. There’s lots to do, including a miniature railway, story trail, play area, tearooms, BBQs for hire and plenty of walking routes. Plus there are loads of seasonal events with something bound to suit you.

Royal Vic was once the site of the world’s largest hospital, of which now only the iconic chapel remains. Due to Heritage Lottery funding, the chapel is currently undergoing restoration work. Opening in summer 2018, the plan is to uncover the history and hidden stories of this important building.

The park is open every day. Entry to the park is free.

The car park is open 8am-9pm (March to October) and 8am-5pm (November to February).

Parking charges

Up to one hour £2
Up to three hours £3
Full day £5

We offer an annual parking pass for £60.

Dogs are welcome in the country park.

The park is largely accessible to users of wheelchairs and pushchairs. All our buildings are fully accessible and there are accessible toilets next to the café. Most of our paths are flat and smooth, and a ramp allows access to the beach. Our children’s play areas contains fully accessible equipment.

Wheelchairs are available to borrow. Guide dogs are welcome in our buildings. Some locations require access via a RADAR key, which can be obtained from the park office.

Please don’t feed bread to our ducks! We have a family of ducks who live at Sophie’s Pond and they’ve become quite fond of bread, which is bad for their health. The bread also attracts rats. Ducks love healthier alternatives like seeds, lettuce and peas instead. Thank you!

SS Shieldhall is a heritage steamship based at Berth 48 in Southampton.

“Shieldhall” is unique as a time capsule providing a working example of steamship machinery both above and below deck, typical of the cargo and passenger ships that plied the oceans of the world from the 1870s until the mid 1960s, by which time they were all but extinct.

The ship is of special interest as she is built on the classical lines of a 1920s steamer with a traditional wheelhouse; the hull is of riveted and welded construction and this unusual feature is representative of the transitional phase in British shipbuilding when welding took over from riveted practice. The hull has a slightly raked bow and cruiser stern. The teak decks and emergency steering position aft add to the classic effect. Shieldhall was effectively obsolete mechanically at the time of her launch having steam machinery representative of the late 19th century at a time when the diesel engine was coming into its own.

Now believed to be the largest working steam ship in Northern Europe, she is owned and operated entirely by voluntary effort.

There are live music and lunch events whilst at sea, staged in a Saloon or covered awning-deck. Real ales and ice cream are available too. A commentary is offered on most trips, offering an insight into the history of the Docks, pointing out the ill-fated Titanic Berth 44, and the sights and sounds of Southampton Water. A highlight of your visit will be the chance to discover Shieldhall's Engine and Boiler Rooms under steam, and the opportunity to meet the Captain on the Bridge.

When not cruising, Shieldhall is an ideal base for events - a popular way to celebrate birthdays and special occasions; company meetings and AGMs.

The New Forest Inn is a family run, unspoilt, traditional 18th Century Country Pub. Debbie, Duane & Sam and all the team offer a very warm welcome to all who visit this quaint area of The New Forest, with all its country charm and atmosphere. With ponies ambling past the front door, as well as donkeys, cows and pigs, it is one of the most enchanting places in The South. Food is served all day – every day. The menu is varied with all dishes home made on the premises with locally sourced ingredients where available. As the food is freshly made then any changes or allergies can be accommodated where possible. There is a daily specials board which becomes a “special” fish specials board on Fridays and Saturdays. Sunday lunch is a definite must – traditional roast meats served with seasonal vegetables, fluffy potatoes and probably the best gravy in The Forest!

Being very dog friendly, dogs are allowed anywhere in the bar, restaurant and large garden.

Spring, summer, autumn, winter – The New Forest Inn is open to welcome customers new and old.

William the Conqueror set aside the Forest for hunting more than 900 years ago as his 'Nova Forestra' or 'New Forest' and centuries of grazing by deer, ponies and cattle have shaped the landscape.

William would probably still recognise much of the Forest as the same place he hunted wild deer and boar. Today it is a wonderful area to explore by walking, cycling and on horseback. Enjoy your visit and please help to keep the New Forest National Park a special place.
